Verizon iPhone 5 Carrier Update Fixes Bug Causing Cellular Data Usage While On Wi-Fi

Have you been prompted to install a Carrier Settings update on your Verizon iPhone 5? You're not alone, as it looks like Apple has just released a Carrier update for Verizon iPhone 5 to fix an issue where cellular data was being used while connected to a Wi-Fi network.
The Carrier update will change the Verizon carrier settings version from 13.0 to 13.1.

AllThingsD reports that "according to multiple sources familiar with Apple’s thinking", one of the key reasons Apple decided to launch its own Map app was disagreement over the voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation feature in Google powered Maps app.

Confirmed: Verizon iPhone 5 is Unlocked, Works on GSM 3G Networks

iDownloadBlog confirms that the Verizon iPhone 5 under contract is unlocked on GSM 3G networks, which means that users will be able to use a nano-SIM card from a GSM carriers like AT&T.

iPhone 5 Has 1GB RAM

Apple unveiled the hugely anticipated 6th generation iPhone dubbed iPhone 5 at a media event on September 12.
iPhone 5 is 18% thinner and 20% lighter than iPhone 4S and comes packed with new features and improvements such as a taller 4-inch display, faster A6 chip, support for faster 4G LTE networks, improved battery life, FaceTime HD camera and more.
As usual, Apple didn't reveal how much RAM is included in the new iPhone. iPhone 5 's tech specs webpage also doesn't mention it.
There have been several speculations that it has 1GB RAM, but were waiting for the iPhone 5 to be disassembled to get a confirmation.

Apple ‘Blown Away’ By Response To iPhone 5; Says Pre-orders Have Been Incredible


The Loop reports that Apple spokesperson has issued a statement that they're completely blown away by customers response to iPhone 5.

"Pre-orders for iPhone 5 have been incredible," said Apple spokeswoman, Natalie Kerris. "We’ve been completely blown away by the customer response."

iPhone 5 goes on sale in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK on Friday, September 21.

Apple started taking iPhone 5 pre-orders today and sold out it's iPhone 5 stock for launch day delivery in less than an hour and is now quoting delivery estimates of 2-3 weeks currently.

Delivery estimates for new iPhone 5 pre-orders have slipped by a week on Verizon and AT&T is quoting shipping estimates of 14-21 business days.
