The best 5 free Productivity apps for Android

productivity
Productivity apps are very easy to come by on Android. Simply head over to the Play Store, browse by category, pick Productivity, and revel in the choice, the hugeamount of choice available to you. But what if you wanted great productivity apps that also happen to be free, proven, and simply the best in their subcategory? Then you need to check out this list.

Sunrise Calendar

Sunrise Calendar is a cross-platform web, Android, and iOS calendar that uses either your Google Calendar or iCloud one as its base for the data. It applies an incredibly fresh coat of paint on top of it, providing a beautiful way to browse and add appointments, assign locations, and share them with friends or co-workers.
Sunrise also integrates with various apps, importing your events from them into your Calendar: TripIt (travel plans), Asana and GitHub (project management), Producteev and Evernote (task reminders), Songkick (concerts).

Todoist: To-Do List, Task List

I have personally tried many task and to-do list managers on Android, but none has been as reliable, as frequently updated, as beautiful, or as simple as Todoist. Creating projects, adding tasks and subtasks, assigning labels, is an easy (pardon the pun) task.
But it’s the app’s ability to handle common English that sets it apart from many competitors. Type “Make a call tomorrow at 9am” and Todoist will add the task and assign the appropriate date and time to it. There is a lot more to Todoist, but you will have to start using the app to discover its true power.

JotterPad (Writer)

Text note editors on Android don’t hold a candle to JotterPad. This beautifully designed, minimalistic app saves local files or syncs with Dropbox, has external keyboard support (with shortcuts), word count, different preset layouts and fonts, and more. It’s my favorite way of writing on Android, and that is saying something because I write a lot.
Paying for the full app unlocks even more of its potential, including a night theme, dictionary and thesaurus research, and markdown support.

Evernote

You can’t possibly mention productivity anywhere without thinking of Evernote. The service is available on many platforms, including Android, and has more features and use cases than we could ever list here.
From handling simple text notes, formatted ones, images (with applied OCR), voice notes, web clips, checklists, Evernote can easily work as your central hub for everything you need to note and keep.

Pomotodo – Pomodoro meets GTD

If you’re serious about your productivity, you must have heard of the Pomodoroand GTD techniques. By combining both, Pomotodo lets you break big projects into small tasks (GTD) then assign 25 minutes to each, interspersed with short breaks (Pomodoro).
Pomotodo has a beautiful interface, multiple graphs to visualize your progress over the days, and easy task entry and project planning. It may just help you get your productivity mojo on.
