Games with IAPs will no longer be listed as free on the Play Store

google-play-store
Earlier this year, Google rolled out an update for the Play Store that added an IAP (In-App Purchases) indicator on every app and game listing.

Now, the European Commission has announced that Google will stop listing any app or game as free on the Play Store if it contains any kind of IAPs.
The decision comes as an agreement between the EU and Google to provide better guidance to the consumers while downloading apps from the Play Store. Google has already started implementing these changes, which is expected to be completed by September of this year.
Another change that users will now see is a mandatory confirmation before every IAP transaction, until and unless the feature is disabled by the user themselves.
Apple has only provided a commitment to fix these issue but is yet to provide any estimated timeframe or implement any changes from its sides.
It is not yet clear if Google will be making these changes only for the European Play Store or across all the stores.
